Table Read Podcast
Prior to awe-inspiring and breathtakingly breathtaking cold Table Reads of magnificent scripts and fantastic screenplays, we usually discuss in some depth some aspect of the performing arts or arts in general or the arts industries or related life lessons, sort of a presentational brainstorming session with rounded edges and big chunks of chewy chocolate. (Memo to self: never write descriptions when hungry for chocolate.) We’re unabashedly seldom at a loss for pithy words or pithy rhetoric, which is really good if you like pithy, no matter what the topic, perfect qualities for a Table Read podcast or the ancient Roman Senate, SPQR y’all. These podcasts are dedicated to the memory of our dear friend, writer, and fellow performing artist, the incomparable Eugene McDaniels.

The Tent (read only)
•
Chase Bailey, Heidi Bunnell, Dylan Michael Collins, Dennis Collins Johnson, Peter Nickell, Justin Norton, and Duncan Watt
This is a read-only podcast of the screenplay The Tent, minus the usual 90 minutes of discussion per podcast beforehand. It is a cold read. It is a compilation from three separate podcast sessions in 2013, the first two in a small room and the last session taking place in Chase's larger painting studio, hence the dramatic change in room tone. Three separate casts were used, with Chase Bailey reading the action lines, Dennis Johnson as Corey, and Duncan Watt in a variety of roles, present in all three. Additional readers who joined us in various episodes and played a veritable bouquet of characters were Heidi Bunnell, Dylan Collins, Peter Nickell, and Justin Norton. The Tent is by Richard Leder, based on the book by Gary Paulsen. Thanks to Chase for permission to read it.
